Young Toronto Mineralogists Club (YTMC) Constitution
1. The Club shall be known as the Young Toronto Mineralogists Club.
2. The headquarters of the Club shall be located in the city of Toronto.
3. The purpose of the Club shall be to encourage interest in and study of mineralogy, lapidary and allied sciences.
4. The Club shall be a nonprofit organization.
MEMBERS:
5. a) All youth aged 9 to 15 years are eligible for membership.
5. b) A family membership fee will be available where more than 1 child from a family wish to become members.
STEERING COMMITTEE:
6. The Club shall be organized and developed by the initial steering committee responsible for the Clubs formation.
7. For decision making purposes, there is a requirement for 3/4 of the steering committee to provide a quorum.
8. Appointment of officers will be done by the initial steering committee and will consist of a Secretary, a Treasurer, and general committee members.
BANKING:
9. Three steering committee members will be authorized to act as signing officers for the Club. All cheques are to be signed by any two of the signing officers.
MEETINGS:
10. Meetings are to be held on a monthly basis from September to May. The meeting dates and locations will be at the discretion of the steering committee.
11. Field trips may take the place of regular meetings.
PUBLICATION:
12. Membership fees include receiving a copy of each issue of the Club bulletin.
DUES:
13. Annual dues will be fixed by the steering committee and are payable at the September meeting each year or prorated as required.
14. Members 3 months in arrears shall be dropped from the membership list.
AMENDMENT OF THE CONSTITUTION:
15. The steering committee can amend the constitution with a 3/4 majority participation in a vote.
