Open to young people ages 8 to 15 interested in mineral collecting, lapidary or other earth science topics.

Annual membership fee is $35 for a family, payable in September. Parents are included in the membership for insurance purposes.

Includes a monthly newsletter, monthly meetings (September to May, except December) and other activities.

Activities include:

• Short talks on earth science topics from experts
• Mineral, fossil and lapidary displays
• What'sit contests - identify minerals - with prizes!
• Hand outs of minerals, fossils, lapidary samples and print material
• Crosswords, word-find, quizzes, and other contests - collect points towards annual prizes
• Show and tell with ID table - bring in what you have found and have experts help with identification
• Organised field trips to collecting sites, museums and other interesting places.
• The YTMC is a member of the Central Canadian Federation of Mineral Societies CCFMS
